Project Background

Facing high humidity and salt air, we opted for sealed veneers with natural oil finishes—flexible, breathable, and better suited than PU in coastal conditions. Veneer sheets were carefully grain-matched, and all panels reinforced with back stabilizers to reduce warping.

The angled layout, especially near the bedroom, limited standard cabinet depth. We resolved this with a lateral pull-out hanger system and carefully aligned facades to preserve clean sightlines despite uneven walls.

Project Details

This sea-facing home showcases oak and veneer carpentry in warm, calming tones. A suspended shoe cabinet hugs the angled foyer wall with precision, while the clean-lined kitchen hides a full pantry behind seamlessly veneered panels.

Rounded oak handles tie the space together, and a custom black-oiled oak French door with brass detailing adds contrast while separating the private zone. Inside, full-height wardrobes conceal utilities, finished to appear flush and uninterrupted.

The bathroom features a suspended Hinoki wood vanity with fluted detailing—lightweight, fragrant, and visually refined.
